Yet without the aid of facial expressions or vocal tones, we rely on punctuation marks, kaomoji, emojis, memes, phonetic scripts, and typography to infuse nuance and emotion into our words. The 2025 Taipei Literature Festival Special Exhibition turns its attention to these subtle signals and hidden undercurrents that exist beyond words, revealing how they inform the ways we connect and understand one another.
